Get Involved: Precint Leadership

Run for Election:

• Elections for all Central Committee members are held every four years during the gubernatorial primary election.

• You must be a registered Democratic voter in the precinct you wish to represent.

• You must circulate a Declaration of Candidacy petition (Form 2-L) and gather a specified number of signatures from Democrats in your precinct (often a minimum of five is recommended, but obtaining more is safer).

• You then file the completed petition with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections by the filing deadline (typically 90 days before the primary election).

• Your name appears on the Democratic ballot, and the candidate with the most votes wins the position for that precinct.
